I write to know what I think

And To Feel Less Lost

I don’t know where I stand, and to be honest, sometimes I don’t even know what to think about… well about anything, I don’t even know what to believe, I feel completely lost, and as I’ve come to realize, that’s why I write.

To know where I stand just by thinking about it is very difficult because, in my mind, everything can seem so hazy and abstract; but when I start writing, I can somehow solidify this abstract ideas and concepts into words, and then the words themselves into paragraphs. This is great because as ideas start to have a certain order and start to be more concise, I can truly start to understand, well… myself and my posture concerning the outside world, which makes me feel a little less lost and makes me see a little bit clearer.

I write so I can know where I stand, I write to know what I think, but most importantly, I write so I can get to know myself.

Why do you write?

I write to put my thoughts into words, because that’s the way I find my voice

Also, to interrogate my thoughts, how I put into words the things and people I encounter and how they enrich my life experiences

Some time ago I realized that I have applied the same concept but with speaking. Conversations with peers help me shape my thoughts and express the fuzzy feelings into words; making them concrete.
